At the Virgin Active Health Club recently, Sir Richard Branson showed off the new, one-of-a-kind bespoke SwiftCarbon Ultravox. Painted in the colours of the company he founded, the range-topping Ti features a SRAM Red groupset and an all-new Vittoria carbon wheelset – only the best for the health clubs that champion enriching lives through ‘ACTIVENESS tm’
It’s all part of Virgin Active’s drive to keep people fit, healthy and happy, offering a premium fitness experience, with state-of-the-art indoor workout equipment. Of course we do the same, only outdoors! The two pursuits compliment each other perfectly, gym goers can enjoy the great outdoors while boosting their cardio fitness and endurance, and cyclists can improve their leg and core strength.
The day’s event is a testimony to Virgin Active’s recognition of the synergies between gym and biking. Perhaps it also has something to do with Sir Richard’s participation in the Cape Town CycleTour in 2013? He managed to complete the full course, despite not having ridden a bicycle since he was a young man, back when bicycle frames were made of steel. We’re hoping to get him on a custom Ultravox soon, and that the latest in carbon fibre technology inspires him to hit the road more often!
